You will be working with a data center team that is responsible for highly reliability, 24 x 7 environments. The team has a wide range of skills, and shares a relentless focus on solving problems. If you have initiative, troubleshooting skills, and love to learn, you will develop skills in a wide variety of platforms and operating systems, including: • Linux • AIX • Solaris • IRIX • VMware • Data Virtualization • SAN / NAS technologies • Tape Backup systems • Much, much more.
Typical duties include: • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems • Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems • Analyze system logs and identify potential issues with computer systems • Introduce and integrate new technologies into existing production environments • Perform routine audits of systems and software • Perform backups and backup maintenance checking • Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes • Install and configure new hardware and software • Add, remove or update user account information, reset passwords, etc. • Answer technical queries • Be responsible for assigned information system security • Document and maintain documents on the configuration of the system • Troubleshoot reported problems • Tune system performance ensuring that the system connected network infrastructure is up and running • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems • Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
Ability to obtain TS/SCI Clearance required for this role.
Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or computer science field. Linux administration experience. This position requires special access to support the program and requires the selected candidate to be a US Citizen
Desired skills • Experience in working on a Cloud production operations team • Experience in deploying applications within a production cloud environment: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Hadoop, or similar • Technical working knowledge related to network configuration: DNS, VPN, and IP Proxy • Experience in Linux systems administration (CentOS, RHEL or similar) • Experience with virtualization technologies: VMware and/or Citrix • Experience in scripting languages: Ruby, Bash, Python or similar • Experience with virtualization provisioning solutions: Chef, Puppet, or similar • Ability to troubleshoot system anomalies. • Willingness to learn new operating systems, environments, and applications • Ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
