Lockheed Martin Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Weapons Engineer - Clearance Required in Fayetteville, North Carolina
Lockheed Martin is seeking an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Weapons Engineer for Fayetteville, NC.
The EOD Weapons Engineer position provides military capability development expertise for EOD projects and military weapon system technical expertise, and works with interagency community Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). The nature of the missions supported and the associated Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) necessitates that specific information will only be made available to the individual once hired.
Support includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following duties:
Observing and documenting the tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) employed by active duty military EOD technicians.
Assessing and documenting TTP and materiel (tool) deficiencies, writing materiel requirements according to established procedures, and supporting the subsequent development process as an SME, as required.
Providing subject matter expertise in weapon system design fundamentals.
Assisting the development and execution of military education and training activities intended to identify TTP and materiel deficiencies or evaluate new TTPs and tools.
Must be able to obtain or possess a TOP SECRET-SCI clearance
Basic Qualifications Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) security clearance .
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain access to Special Access Programs (SAP).
Must have earned a Master’s of Science (MS) in Systems, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or similar) from a ABET accredited institute.
Must have seven or more years of multi-disciplinary system design, production, and/or analysis experience at the component and/or system level.
Desired skills Knowledge of weapon system design fundamentals including: fusing, power systems, energetics/explosives, metal and composite structures, and delivery system integration.
Knowledge of the fundamentals of production and assembly techniques and equipment for weapon components and systems to include standard industrial technologies and rapid prototyping/manufacturing.
Knowledge of the fundamentals of quality assurance/quality control practices, qualification testing, and inspection techniques as applied to warhead components and systems.
Knowledge of the fundamentals of the military weapon system development process, design reviews, Technology Readiness Levels (TRL), and user evaluations.
Knowledge of the types and classes of military weapon systems, tactical and strategic.
Skill in briefing highly technical concepts to non-technical personnel, commanders, and management.
Ability to communicate well orally and in writing.
Ability to develop presentations and technical white papers.
